Hi, I’m Sam. Bros. I’ve been drawing & creating other forms of art for as long as I can remember. I started making small sculptures out of aluminum foil. My first artistic subjects were dinosaurs, wildlife, Dragons & mythical animals. I started drawing anime style art in 2000.
I studied professional photography for several years & earned certificates, but for the most part, I’m self taught finding inspiration from my many interests: anthropology, paleontology, nature, wildlife, conservation, martial arts, spiritual, anime & manga. Much of my inspiration comes from ukiyo-e, cultures, mythology, archeology & music.
I love to draw, write manga, film & photograph stuff, festivals, birding, web design & being outdoors.
For pure enjoyment, I like old movies, samurai films & playing video games such as Okami, Genji: Dawn of the Samurai, Kengo: Master of Bushido, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis & anime games.
They’re a few achievements I’m proud of. Ronin Yoshino manga won 3rd place in an ADV Films “Comic Party” contest. Hidesato won 1st runner up in a FUNimation “School Rumble” contest. I filmed & photographed the Sakura Matsuri held at Stony Brook University (Charles Wang Center) on Long Island for the Ryu Shu Kan dojo where I currently practice Taiko drumming.

Currently I am writing the manga series Ronin Yoshino. It took 8 years of research on Japanese Culture- the language, folklore, customs, history & clothing. All of which has taken an incredible amount of work, which is fun since I am still learning! The characters are all based on historical figures & personalities inspired from people I know.
